- Sandhi, Samas, Upsarg (prefix), Pratyay (suffix)
- Vakya vichar (sentence study) and Arth vichar (synonyms, antonyms, one word for a phrase)
- Punctuation marks
- Shuddhikaran (correction of words and sentences)
- Muhavare and Lokoktiyan (idioms and proverbs)

JOA IT Exam Preparation Tips
- Read the full syllabus first. Computer has 10 units, so make a checklist and tick off each unit as you finish.
- Focus on practical topics. Write and run HTML, PHP and MySQL (SELECT, WHERE, ORDER BY, DISTINCT) code yourself, and practise MS Excel functions.
- Practise the Number System. Solve binary, octal and hexadecimal conversions and logic gate questions repeatedly.
- Practise Mathematics daily. Start with Percentage, Average, Time & Work and Data Interpretation.
- Set aside daily time for Himachal GK and Current Affairs.
- Learn English and Hindi grammar rules and solve questions on them.
- Take mock tests. The exam is on Digi OMR Tablets, so practise time management and accuracy.
- Solve available previous year papers and revise your weak topics.
