Educational Qualification
English Teacher (26046) and Mathematics Teacher (26047)
- M.A./M.Sc. in the subject with at least 50% marks at graduation level, and B.Ed. (B.A.B.Ed., B.Com.B.Ed. and B.Sc.B.Ed. are also eligible), with the subject as a compulsory subject in B.Ed.
- Minimum 50% marks in graduation (including B.Ed.) and at least 55% marks in English / Mathematics at graduation level.
- Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by HP Board of School Education, Dharamshala, or any other authorized agency.
- SC/ST/OBC: at least 45% in graduation and B.Ed., and 50% in the subject at graduation level.
Hindi, Political Science, History, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Sanskrit (26048 to 26055)
- Master’s degree in the subject concerned from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (subject-specific streams apply, for example Economics, Applied Economics or Business Economics; Physics, Electronics or Nuclear Physics; Chemistry or Biochemistry; Botany/Zoology and allied life sciences for Biology).
- B.Ed. from a recognized university/institution with minimum 50% marks.
- Passed TET conducted by HP Board of School Education, Dharamshala, or any other authorized agency.
- Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.
- Up to 5% relaxation in minimum educational qualification for SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories of HP.
Teacher (Computer) 26056
Any one of the following with minimum 50% marks in aggregate:
- B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science / Information Technology, or
- B.E./B.Tech. (any stream) with a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science / Technology / Applications, or
- M.Sc. (Computer Science) / MCA, or
- PG degree in Mathematics/Physics with a PG Diploma in Computer Science/Applications, or
- “B” or “C” level course from DOEACC Society (Ministry of Information and Communication Technology).
Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English is required. 5% relaxation applies for SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories of HP.
Teacher (Music) 26057
- Master’s degree in Vocal/Instrumental from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
- B.Ed. with minimum 50% marks and passed TET.
- Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.
Teacher (Commerce) 26058
- Master’s degree with minimum 50% marks in Accountancy / Financial Accountancy and Income Tax / MFC (Master of Finance Control).
- B.Ed. with minimum 50% marks and passed TET.
- Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.
Teacher (Physical Education) 26059
Any one of the options below, as per NCTE norms:
- B.P.Ed. / BPE / B.Sc. in Health and Physical Education with at least 55% marks, or
- At least 50% marks in B.P.Ed. / B.P.Ed. (Integrated) 4-year degree, or
- B.P.Ed. with at least 55% marks in a 3-year B.P.E. course, or
- One-year Diploma in Physical Education (DPEd) and M.P.Ed./M.A. Physical Education of at least 2 years from an NCTE recognized institution.
Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English is required.
Teacher (Fine Arts) 26060
- Master’s degree in Fine Arts / Visual Arts (Painting and Sculpture) with at least 50% marks, or
- Higher Secondary / Intermediate / Senior School Certificate with a 5-year full-time (or 7-year part-time) Diploma in Fine Art/Painting from a recognized university/institute with at least 50% marks.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern
- Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT) or written screening test (OMR may be used where candidate numbers are limited).
- Questions: 120 multiple-choice questions, 1 mark each (120 marks).
- Duration: 1½ hours (one and a half hours), or as decided by the Aayog.
- Qualifying marks: at least 45% for General category and 40% for SC/ST/OBC/Wards of Freedom Fighters. The Aayog may relax this by up to 5% if qualified candidates are fewer than the posts.
- Normalization: if CBT is held in multiple shifts, scores are normalized using the Z-Score (Mean and Standard Deviation) method.
- Next stage: shortlisted candidates go through document verification.

- Subject/field up to the level of the prescribed essential qualification.
- General Knowledge including General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh and Current Affairs.

Salary and Terms of Engagement
- Fixed honorarium of ₹30,000 per month, payable for 10 months in an academic year.
- Engagement is purely scheme based and temporary for five years, and is not against any sanctioned post.
- No right of regularization; selected teachers will not be deemed Government employees.
- Government service rules (CCS/CCA/leave/pension) and Government medical reimbursement rules do not apply.
- Teachers are liable to be posted in any CBSE affiliated school or other Government school as per department requirement.
Other Key Conditions
- Candidates must have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from an institution in Himachal Pradesh. This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.
- Reservation benefit is available only to bona fide residents of Himachal Pradesh. Reserved-category candidates of other states are treated as General (UR) with no reservation or fee concession.
- SC/ST/OBC certificates must be on a parental basis.
- OBC (NCL), BPL and EWS certificates must be valid on the closing date of application and on the date of document verification.
- Only one application per post is allowed; multiple forms for the same post may be rejected.
- Candidates already in government service must inform their Head of Office/Department and apply online directly to HPRCA.
- Candidates must submit a written declaration of any past conviction or criminal cases at document verification.
